Testimonials from Parent Observation Week
“It was wonderful to observe the students working so well and independently. This classroom really is a great place to foster learning.”
“Children worked quietly and diligently at individual tasks. They cleaned up on their own and took pride in their skills. It was very quiet for a preschool – the usual noise (crying, fighting, yelling) was absent.”
“I was so amazed to see my three-year-old son clean up after himself – including washing the tray. It was wonderful to see the pride my daughter felt in spelling and writing words.”
“What a lovely school! [My daughter] has learned so much in the last 5 months. Montessori really teaches the kids how to be so independent but work and help others.”
“All the children are focused on their particular tasks – a well-run and orderly classroom.”
“The children work well together, help each other, and also work side-by-side without bothering each other. They listen to their teachers and show respect for each other too. A wonderful group of kids!”
“It was great to see how smoothly the classroom environment flowed. Children were focused and respectful of their work space.”
“[My daughter] seems very focused when she’s at work – her motor skills seem to improve every day.”
“Children were in a relaxed, well-organized manner; each child, when finished with a project, neatly cleaned up and put the project back in its place and started a new project. Thank you so much for giving her and us the tools to further her education with a solid foundation.”
“I really enjoyed seeing the different centers. Most were for independent work, but a few were collaborative. All the children were focused and contributed to an engaged learning community. Quite a feat for 3-5 year olds. Additionally, the numbers of students (at least 4 or 5) that used a broom to clean up the classroom was a testament to the way that students value and respect their learning environment.”
“[My daughter] knew how to carefully put away the wooden number strips in their container, methodically. I like that she was able to get herself a glass of water when she felt thirsty, without help, and went right back to her own work. She does still struggle to complete one task before beginning a new one. I like that she is learning to complete a full cycle. Thank you! I love Montessori and wish all of my children had had this experience.”
